Tomorrow morning I get to bring my new (to me) pre 81 Browning BLR in .308 home. It has taken 41 days to arrive because of an incompetent seller and a more incompetent FFL. Or would that be just New York as a whole.
However looking forward to a lot of range time on my range and at my friend's long range. Might need more .308 cases Gil.
EeeHawww!!

That's not a joke but sounds like a lot of fun.
Lever actions and revolvers also are my favorits. A lever action in .308 Win combines several good things, must keep that OUT of my mind...

you MAY need small base dies.
trigger probably sucks n blows at same time
mount low power scope as low as you possibly can
fit hammer spur
DONT loose the magazine.....worth half the price of rifle to replace
on range you may find she works best with offhand close to mag,eg not pulling on forestock.
they are a wonderful rifle that exceed what they should.
winchester bog standard 180grn powerpoints will suit it for sub hundred yard deer/elk/cow/pig/tyranasuarusrex
you will fall in love with rifle once you come to grips with the trigger, mine would shoot better than I could and sub moa groups were easy.

You got that right Elvis. From $250 to $350 US for the magazine. I will check out the rest of your list as I progress in working up a load. Because I have a "ugly black" rifle in .308 that likes 150 grain bullets I will start there.
8:30 AM here and I am about to leave to pick up that rifle.

So far, so good. went through 25 rounds at my 40 yard range. Went to Larry's 250 yard range for 25 more rounds. Hitting dead center of minute of rock. HeHe.
150 grain SPSP over 45 grains of H380.

I don't know there Elvis. I've had that "dirty30" sense I was 18. It will still be my go to short range rifle.

No naked girls. Wive's might object, but the rest sounds good.
The Rock is just scared and cratered, but no lead.
Ran a few through my chrony Model One with two charges of H380. 44 grains of powder netted me 2445 fps and 45 grain ran 2540. The 45 grains under a Winchester SPSP was the most accurate. This rifle seems to like speed.

Sounds like you did just fine in acquiring the new rifle. Let me know when you need more .308 brass. All the best...
