Where'd everybody go? Is it time to break the kayak out for some fishing?
Last week I went to a reloading store not far from here, Blue Collar Reloading. I'd bought from them at gun shows before but hadn't been to the store. Lots of bullets, some powder and brass, a few primers (but still too expensive for me, $90 and up for 1k). Friendly, knowledgeable folks.

I am going to travel to Bali for a holiday this coming Friday.
Anyone else want to meet up there?

shift work is problimatic with weekends at a premium.... fishing, dont get me started..the lake/dam we fish has had toxic algae all season so we havent taken boat out for a year AND its 2 weeks till duck season opens and once again we have to head elsewhere ....its toxic to dogs so just not worth the risk.
good mate has tagged a possie down in lake wainono...thats right on coast just south of Timaru and north of the waitaki river if you want to look it up on map... should be interesting as will be a LOT of other folks shooting down there...plenty to keep birds moving..hopefully some wind to keep them off the ocean.
giving the deer a rest as its just tailend of the rut/roar..too many dickheads out and about for my liking, will see if can find some old stag feeding up after month of romancing the hinds.

Not fishing but got the motorcycle out. Going turkey hunting with the kids the next couple of weekends.

Gidday Punkin, Trembles, Dallan, Gelan, Bushy, and ‘Mitri…I hope all is well with each and every one of you.
I hope your shoulder surgery isn’t on your shooting shoulder Dallan…that will mean no recoil on that shoulder for quite awhile. Might be time to break out the .22 rimfire mate for some very cheap shooting. Fingers crossed all goes well for you mate and you have a speedy and complete recovery.
Good luck with the quackers Elvis. Will you be bringing another “pet” home to sit in your kitchen mate?
No fishing here, although it’s a good idea. I’d love to be able to catch some fish, but all I ever seem to do is fatten them up with my bait for other buggers to catch.
I’ve had a busy couple of days. This time of year, ANZAC Day, is always busy for me. I had an ANZAC Day ceremony as a Piper at my granddaughter’s school, which included rehearsals the day before, and yesterday was the big day…ANZAC Day is the 25th of April. I do the ANZAC Day ceremony at a Returned Services League (RSL) each year, again as a Piper. This takes up at least half of the day and I’m knackered by the time I get home. I strip off my kilt etc, put on a pair of shorts and relax in my recliner with at least two fingers of scotch. I had tea about 6pm, back into my recliner…and woke up at 11:30pm
Today I have to go to the “fang farrier” at 11am, then take Tricia’s Mum to the podiatrist at 4:30pm, so that puts paid to anything else today.
I need to do some reloading for my .303 so that just might fill in a little time between appointments, then I can organise a range day.
For the uninitiated, this is two fingers of Scotch…Single Malt straight up of course…

I am currently enjoying these, well one at a time of course, whilst I contemplate where I can go fishing…when it stops raining. I simply flip a coin to see which one I imbibe tonight.
