This thread really got off course, man!
The 7mm JDJ was originally designed for the contender using the 225 Win case as it's parent, then Encore shooters wanted more and SSK put out the
7mm JDJ #2 which uses the 307 Win as it's donor case.
I just got a contender barrel rechambered to the latter and it will be loaded only to the tolerances my contender will withstand.
I'll keep ya'll updated as field trials disclose it's capabilities
Thanks,

That is one sweet Contender gemihur…in fact it brings a tear to my eye.
I had a 10” BBL TC Contender in 30.30 Win, but when they made life very difficult for pistol shooters to maintain a licence I handed my licence and all three of my pistols into the Police. That was over 15 years ago, and I still miss shooting that pistol. It had Pachmyar furniture front and rear, but I no doubt would have made something fancy for it from a well figured Aussie hardwood had I retained it rather than give it up.
The Contender is a very accurate platform for whatever discipline floats your boat…IHMSA, hunting or just plinking. I would happily have one today, with various calibre barrels, for hunting if 1. We were allowed to hunt with a pistol, and 2. The licensing criteria wasn’t so ridiculously difficult. Calibre…I must admit, I’m a sucker for the 30.30 Win, but I do rather like some of the more traditional calibres rather than a wildcat.
As an aside…I’ll finish by saying: Rest In Peace Deer Sniper (David), you are greatly missed by your lovely wife Brenda and all on The Nut. It was fantastic visiting and meeting both you and Brenda. It is something that will stay with me for a lifetime.

It's actually an Encore, but thank you!
Looking to load for a new acquisition, a 7mm Super Bower, aka 7mm JDJ #2
or 7X307AI. Yikes! Really needing some dies for 7-08 Ackley Improved.
Here's some of my motivation:

Again, the resurrection of an old and relevant thread.
This time I'm on to one of the all-time classic chambers made renowned by no less than the great shooter, Don Bower. It goes by many names but all essentially the same dimensions, just like the Whisper and the Blackout. 7mm JDJ #2 or 7mm SUPER Bower. I'm still in search of a 7-08 Ackley 40* body die, if anyone can help.
Shown here with a custom buttstock that I carved from some curly flamed maple.
I know all the concerns of pressures and breechthrust seem to be thrown out the window with this one,
But evidently P. O. Ackley really was on to something when he figured out that by changing the shape of the brass to not only hold more propellant but to grip the chamber walls upon ignition and actually defeat the tendency of the brass to move rearward thus greatly eliminating breechthrust energy.
The very idea of using a rimmed version of the 308 Winchester parent case and necking it to .284” in a contender would on it’s face value seem absurd, but the nearly parallel walls of the case seem to allow it’s use. One must still be mindful of type of powders used and their volume.
