A Very Happy and Prosperous New Year to all our Nuts. May 2025 bring good aim, accurate shots and plenty of venison, turkey and ducks for the freezer.

I hit the fart sack at 1230am and was awake at 0615am…then after snoozing a little more, got up at 0750am…just in time to Fart have a scratch and Fart again, then thought, New Year…that’s a bit “ho humm”…must remember to write 2025 instead of 2024.

Seriously though, I must try hard to reduce my weight…I put on about 3kg (6.5lb) over the Christmas break Razz …I now need to loose about 25kg (55lb). Confused I gotta learn to control my appetite…I think of food and get the munchies. Mad

Every year we plan a ice fishing trip for New Years day. Its a ritual... except for this year.

Its been 45-50F for the past few weeks, a few dips lower but back to 40s pretty quick. Lakes that should be 8-16" of ice... still have open water.

Its absolutely bizarre. Colder weather expected, hopefully we get some "hard deck" quick.

WOW, that is insane mate. I wonder why the weather is still so warm Scratch Not to worry, I’m sure the weather will catch up with the calendar soon, then you can go ice fishing mate. In the meantime, make the most of the open water and “wet a line” from the bank.

I hope everyone had good holidays.

My daughter's birthday is New Years Eve. Very demanding girl, wanted ribeye steak, turkey, rabbit and deer for her dinner. I was in the kitchen for hours!

She got to see her Rascal with the scope mount and Vortex red dot. Still waiting on the Williams rear and Lyman front sight.

Rabbit pasta with homemade sauce. No head for obvious reasons. Very Happy

That looks scrumptious Dimitri. From your comment, I take it you are the cook in the household? That should keep SWMBO happy.

Wish your daughter a very Happy Birthday from me and the rest of The Nuts mate. How old is she now?

Is the Polar Vortex they are saying has hit the US affecting you guys mate? Has the lake frozen over for you now? We saw some clips of Washington DC on the news here…a car with around 4’ of snow on top and totally snowed in all around. Shocked wtf Confused

Bugger…I didn’t realise you were divorced mate. Unusual that the father has custody of the children…I hope all is well mate.

WOW…time flies…it doesn’t seem that long ago you were looking at getting married.

She's telling me I can take the kids on my moose hunting trip this year.

They can't "hunt" but might be fun. I've taken them to the field 6 times so far on day and weekend trips.
