You will note that this rose has long thorns...And they prick...
4rum...If I want to be able to pick on you I have to be able to take the knocks that come my way or I'm out. Life is one ball after another. Besides guns, hunting horses and fishing, laughter is up there with the rest of my hobbies. Besides I'm proud of my age. I only hope that I can still be riding when I'm 92 like one of my riding partners. He's 94 now and can't ride, but he is still training horses and their riders...If this impresses you I'll find a link to who he is. Just for starters he was Vaquero of the year in California three times. The last time was when he was 90 and is one of the last of the Californio's. (he still likes the girls)

I heard this story.... kind of away from the original topic, but since we're talking about thorny old roses here....This fella was a friend of my Dad's, a close enough friend that my Dad named me after him. Now, I'm the youngest son and all my older brothers were named after relatives, uncles and brothers and whatnot and I always used to wonder why I got named after this buddy. Now, this guy was probably twenty years older than my Dad to begin with and the story I heard was that when the fella was 75 years old, he entered a bull riding competition at a rodeo in Saskatchewan on a $5.00 bet. Someone bet him that he couldn't do it, so he showed them. I can't account for the veracity of the story, it being second or third hand information, but ever since I've always liked to think that my old man saw something in that attitude when he named me after the guy!
Personally, I'm just shy of the big 5-0 and I'm looking forward to fifty more, be chasing my great grandson's girlfriends, I hope!!

I should think that it would go without saying that Mr. Yanez is counted as one of your most highly respected friends. That is a wonderful article. I have bookmarked the site also. Thanks for the introduction to a true speciman of real "cowboy".

If you are into some screwy horse ladies then that's the site for you 4rum. I was kicked off that site because I wouldn't keep my mouth shut about the site owner and her inability to ride a horse, but who bragged about her knowledge and horsemenship skills. She didn't know which end was the head and which end was the.......It just happens that is where it's easiest to connect to the link. If you look under "camp recepes" you might still find me...I don't know...I'll have go back and look.
Nope...She removed them too...Too bad. they were very good...
