Got to admit, I'm with the bigger is better group. I like the 45 ACP and up. The only problem I have is trying to conceal them, so, I don't. I use everything above the 45 ACP for hunting. In the hot weather months, I still depend on my .380 ACPs, cold weather months I pack the 1911 in 45 ACP.
In the field, I gotta go with my other 45s, & when I want the one gun that does it all, I'm hooked on the S&W 460 (just as good as a rifle). Similarly, when I have a need for rifles, I take one that's chambered for the 45 LC for up to wolf size game or 45-70 for anything larger. Though I have rifles in 223, 243, 30-06 and 300 Weatherby, I just don't have as much fun with them, I'm hooked on 45s.
Keep it coming...

But George...I've taken a spike and a forked horn with a .357 magnum Colt SAA with a 4 3/4" barrel using a 140 gr XTP and 16 grains of 2400...

You must be a little fellow George20042007! I find the easiest gun to conceal IS a 1911 in any caliber.
I agree Bushmaster, I also have shot deer with the 357 mag, both light and heavy bullets and the deer didnt know the difference. I use a Ruger GP161 with a leupold 2X scope . Sorry if that ruins the whole thing for you bushy!

No Crackshot. It doesn't...If I was to take up handgun hunting again I would have to use a scope too...Eyes you know...64 years of use has taken thier toll. Can still see 100 miles, just can't see my hand or sights in front of my face...

Yep I've had glasses so I could read for about 10 years now and what bothers me the most is that I can no longer shoot a rifle with open sights cause the sights are too fuzzy.

Glasses, used to have them as a kid and recently got them agian, always had eye problems (got surgery on one eye), and a slight vision problem but I got the oposite problem, my focus is alittle bad at a distance, my glasses make things TINY when using them with anything closer then about 10 yards so I generally don't use them when I'm working with my hands on something. I do shoot with them though. Up close I can read fine print like if it was normal sized text.
