i have a handmade turkey call which isnt very pretty but my great gramps made it over 100 years ago and it will call turkeys in the hand of a newbie faster than most experts can call any other way.

old squawk box type made from 2 different woods and seasoned for 100 years.

It sounds like you got a fine box call there. I'll bet your grand gramps would be proud to know you're still enjoying it today.

BTW.... turkey sounds often call in predators too!

my gramps died in 1972 at 104 years old. i was looking thru the trash from his house when he died after everyone else had taken everything of "VALUE" and found his box in the bottom of a large pile of old clothes and i took it knowing it was probaly the most important thing he had when he died which he had hand made when he was 14 years old. i was about 14 when i found it.

i personally dont turkey hunt but i still every season get the old box out and call for friends who do hunt. im not a very good caller but that old worthless box even allows me to call up huge turkeys very fast.
