Looking back over the thread, Elvis, I see you mention Black Swans...what do you do with them mate? They are highly protected over here in Oz.
generally I let them fly on past Very Happy we have shot a few but they arent my favourite eating bird and take alot of carrying home. looks neat as when the young fella drops one stone dead from way up with the .410 though Very Happy

I wouldn't have thought they would be an "eating" bird at all mate. What loads does your young fella use in the .410 mate? They sound like they are rather stout.

3/4 oz of shot either lead #4 or a mix of #6 #7 #8 powered by 14grns win 296 in 3" winchester case with winchester type wad.
this is pretty close to the load from my lyman manual and shoots without too much recoil and patterns well. I have pissed around with gamebore and rio cases too but winchester are just soo much easier to use.
we have 4 x 2 1/2" win cases aswell which are on about the 5th loading they are even easier to load as my simple ol loader is for 2 1/2" cases. we bought a box of #9s in 2 1/2" this year so we can get some more wee shorties to load up, at $17 for 25 rounds it didnt hurt too badly.
