Sad Sad
The Great Irene Van Dyk has announced her retirement today Sad she came to us 21 years ago from South Africa and has been simply magic to watch ever since Confused
she wasnt born a Kiwi but we sure were pleased to have her on our team.
the young ones wont have her to look up to and us oldies wont have her to look at Very Happy
at 42 years young she was still footing it with the best, and was an awesome goal shoot with very safe hands. thats an achievement that not many will match.

much more skilled than basketball Shocked . you are only allowed 2 foot movements with ball in hand and can only hold for a few seconds.
you cant travel the whole court and you cant chuck ball from 1st section to 3rd it has to be passed from 2nd.
our Son Nathan played it for 4 seasons and it was a great time to be a Dad, got some funny looks in a female dominated sport but he was good at it and the girls accepted him for it.
yip the ladies wear short skirts not unlike for tennis and they are plurry fit.

The basic difference between basketball and netball is with netball you are not allowed to move with ball, no dribbling. To move the ball from one end of the court to the other you pass it to one of your team mates. Additionally, you don't have a backing board and often no net on your scoring ring. There are also rules as to who and how you can block a scoring attempt.

Easiest way is to watch the game being played on You Tube

Netball.

In New Zealand: For women it's held in the same regard as Rugby is for males - it's a rite of passage.
It can be a very fast explosive game, it's bloody hard on the ankles and as said before fingers and wrists.
Yep most of the top end players are tall, fit and attractive.
But if you want to see the best lookers for a sport check out the NZ woman's hockey team. Boo yah!
(PS don't let my wife see this) lol.
