#1: Harley Author: Bushmaster, Location: Ava, MissouriPosted: Sat Jul 04, 2015 12:39 pm ---- My son's good friend and hunting partner passed away in his master's lap peacefully yesterday. He was 12 years old and had been in my son's family sense birth.
He WILL be missed.

#5: Re: Harley Author: Aloysius, Location: B., BelgiumPosted: Sat Jul 04, 2015 6:27 pm ---- this is hard, even when the dog is already 14 years old. There is only 1 thing I can say: I always believed on such occasions that I'd never going to get another dog as good as the one that passed away and you know what? Somehow the next one always proved to be better.
So don't forget your best friend, but give the next one a chance!
Remember: you will survive all your dogs except the last one...

#7: Re: Harley Author: Vince, Location: Brisbane AUSTRALIAPosted: Sun Jul 05, 2015 7:20 am ---- I'm really sorry to hear that Bushy. It is not uncommon that the only member of the family that loves and trusts unreservedly is the family dog.
Aloys makes a good point too mate...you can never replace Harley, but your next pup will, although having big paw prints to fill, no doubt prove to be as much a member of the family as Harley.
As Elvis said mate, I hope you guys were able to find a nice peaceful spot, with the occasional duck fly over, for Harley to rest his weary bones.
