#2: Re: Chicago... Author: Vince, Location: Brisbane AUSTRALIAPosted: Mon Jul 03, 2023 9:03 pm ---- Shane Van Gisbergen drove an amazing race, and won the race by a good margin.
Shane cut his teeth on racetracks in NZ then moved to AUSTRALIA to contest the Championship Series over here, to which he indelibly stamped his name as one of the best, driving on circuits such as the Chicago race. It will interesting to see how he goes on the oval speedway tracks though…only left hand turns on banked circuits (the domain of NASCAR).
Bushy, and anyone else interested in motor racing, Google the 1000 kilometre race held in Bathurst each year on what is our premier street circuit.
This is the best piece of motor racing TV I’ve ever watched…

Bigger for me mate…I don’t like horse racing.
Greg Murphy, Russell Ingle and the ex-pat Canadian, Allan Moffat…all had an air of arrogance about them…outstanding drivers, but still a bit arrogant. NZ has produced some of the best drivers to ever hit a racetrack. I’m surprised we haven’t seen a NZ Driver winning the F1 World Championship, or the World Motorcycle GP.
Must be from chasing thems damn sheepsies all the time, keeps them real fit…or the Velcro gloves give them a great grip on the steering wheel.
As an aside, I saw a video yesterday of Greg Murphy driving his 2007 winning car around Brands Hatch in the UK. Apparently someone over there owns his old car.
