So I've been told I can bring my kids "moose" hunting.

Planning on going up a week early and leave before the moose season starts as it's the small game opener.

It's funny. I've taken them to the bush for weeknd hunts and now the plan is 8 days/7 nights and 20+ hour drives each way. It's a big jump.

But it makes me excited. Only 8 months to plan.

The plan for far? Buy a pop up out house which is my daughter's only condition.

Let's see how this goes!

Picked up a Satellite phone. Ironically enough it's cheaper to pay for the pre-paid minutes then pay long distance rates calling it from a land line.

But at least the kids and their mom can talk. So no one should be panicking because we'll be out of cell tower coverage for 9 full days. Very Happy

Supposedly Elon Musk's "Starlink" Satellites are compatible with any newer phone that supports eSim cards. Some phones off of TMobile will get a roll out with access via a plan, but eventually all newer phones should be able to get a plan and get service.

Crazy times we live in.

Ok, I give in mate…what is a “pop up out house”? Scratch Scratch I’m thinking the “cat scratch” option is not a option, Razz so I’m guessing this might be a small shelter you can put a thunder box inside for privacy. Cool

Rogers got the rights for that in Canada. It's interesting but who knows how reliable it will be. Iridium has been working well for a very long time and it's pricing has come way down $2.30 CAD a minute.

Exactly that. Except in Australia there are "thunder boxes" in Canada we have "luggable loos". Very Happy

That’s what I thought it might be mate. How old is your daughter now? My daughters went through that “I need total privacy” modesty phase. Two grew out of it, whereas two haven’t.

I remember one time out in the bush on exercise in the Army, I wandered down to the “bush ablutions” (two pits in the ground with a thunder box over each and divided by a hessian (burlap I think) wall just over a metre high. I was in one side when one of the girls came down to use the other. No problems, just dropped her trousers and sat down without worrying (or even realising) that the dividing wall only provided privacy once you were sitting, but not standing. Not a problem though, well for me anyway.

She's only 8 now. I don't think it's about modesty as much as it's about her wanting to sit down while using the washroom.

That’s about the age it kicked in for my daughters and granddaughters mate. Give it another 12 months or so and you will see some drastic changes. Confused Shocked Very Happy Wink
