I own several calibers,.... 30.06, 300 RUM, 7mm Magnum, 8mm Mauser, & .303 British, to name a few.

I guess I can't disagree that the 30.06 is the best all around caliber, however the 7mm Magnum is always my "Go-To" rifle. Very Happy

Handmade Laminate in a sporter configuration. I had made another one out of english walnut in a varminter configuration for the same 700 BLD.
It's on the heavy side though,... at just over 21 lbs with scope. & bi-pod. Shocked




The steel bedding and the omission of any pockets in the english walnut ad to the heft,... but she sure does group em' REALLY nice. Very Happy There's over 200 hours of time in this varmint stock.
