Go to (www.snipercountry.com), and they will have a very easy to understand step by step " how to" for your trigger adjustment. I assume its a 700 your wanting to know about and they have that. be sure to have as much information as to the model SPS,BDL or what ever it is as Reminton did use different triggers depending on the purpose of each 700 set up. An example would be my 710, it was built with two different triggers and I got the 3 stage jewel because of the caliber (7 mm Rem. mag. ) and the year it was manufactured in, so be sure to enter that information too just in case it will make a difference.

Hey, if you think about it, let me know which trigger your Remington has. And yes, be sure that the let off is predictable and that the gun won't go off when closing the action. If it does then back off your adjustment in 1/4 turn increments until you can rely on it being safe and predictable.
