Elvis - I "had" a Baikal in 12 ga. with a 32" trap barrel that I stubbed and turned into a 6mmX 30-30 Improved. Accuracy was superb and one of our State Troopers decided he just had to have it. Last I heard, several deer and a truck load of prairie dogs had met their demise with this rig....

All of the "improved" 444 based cartridges average 10 gr. more powder capacity, when measured to the base of the neck, than any 308 based cartridge...
I have seen the 308X444 Improved exactly match that of the 30-06, while the majority of barrel "average" 100 fps. below that of the '06....

????
not quite sure what you are meaning here but how ever if using a Baikal single shot, they have an opening/cocking lever behind and around the trigger guard. the way to decock them is similar to letting the hammer down for an exposed hammer except in stead of holding and gently lowering hammer with your thumb as normaly done you use your other three fingers on the lever and hold it up against rifle as you do to open-let off trigger and SLOWLY let the cocking lever back down/out. you will see the cocking indicator (on top of action where safety catches often are)go inwards as you release the lever down. the rifle/shotty can now be carried more safely as it wont go off/fire untill you pull lever up to recock it.
be aware the rifle as all firearms are is still ALWAYS LOADED.
#22: Re: New Rifle Builds... Author: Deer Sniper, Posted: Sun Apr 22, 2012 1:43 pm ---- Elvis,
I for one, prefer the Baikal single shots over that of the H&R break open single shots and wished more sporting goods stores around here would carry them...
The lock-up is rock solid and I don't think the frames are near as prone to stretching as what the H&R's are. I have shot SEVERAL H&R rifles "loose" but, never one of the single shot Baikal's....

I've always seen this as the contradiction between Americans and Russians: what's the most important finger, the tumb or the middlefinger? Both get lots of attraction when held upwards...
(and I use my tumb to cock the revolver or the Model 94 hammer, but I use the middlefinger with a Baikal single shot. Might there be a theory behind this?)

my old boss refered to the middle finger as the "Saturday night finger"

I have often wondered where you had "disappeared" to, but I can clearly see now that you have been busy creating more masterpieces for us mere mortals to drool over.
The 300 BLK on the AR platform is nice, but I think more so because of the calibre. However, your TC platforms are a wonder to behold. I would love to have one chambered for the 300 BLK, although any of your bolt guns in the same calibre would more than suffice.
Thanks for displaying your work mate, they are a thing of beauty.

If I could afford one I would get you to do a build for me...but out here, just the purchase price of a TC is frightening. Oh well, a guy can dream.
