Point Blank Stopped Working

I updated windows today and every since I get a "PointBlank.exe has stopped working" fault everytime I try to open the software.

I have rebooted and ran the patch tool to which I get all ok.

Again opened and same problem.

Any ideas?

I updated Windows 7 Pro this morning, and Pointblank still works on my computer. I guess all that means is if there is a fault in the Windows update, it does not affect every computer.

Works for me on 2 machines with the latest updates. I'm kindof at a loss as to what could be happening. when you start it, how far does it get before it stops working? Initial popup screen? Does it ever get into the main program?

stops working at the initial pop up screen. I am running windows 8.1

i have a screenshot if it helps just need to know where to send it

Have you modified the bullet_users.slk file or calibers_users.slk files?

Try this, rename the database.xml file temporarily to "xdatabase.xml" and see if the program runs. The database might have become corrupted.

Well that worked but I have lost all the information in my database

Email me the original, renamed one. I'll take a look at the data. Last time I ran into this, the file got corrupted on the users machine due to a flakey hard drive. I was able to recover alot of the info though.
