Well, I can't argue with the 1911 but I trust my 357 more than I trusted that bad apple Colt I owned. If you have a Colt that works every time then you have a golden gun, hang on to it!

Gun on left- used for MANY purposes, even a duty weapon. Had one stoppage in well over 50,000 total rounds, at a pistol match, it was due to crud on a long hot day and dirty hand loads.
I stopped counting/closed the log book at 50k rounds. Other than external Wilson bits and springs, it's 100% Colt. It's semi retired but it still prints and will score big time. Of that you can be sure.
357 wheel gun? Yup- that's a stopper and reliable. I have one on me at all times....2" 605 Taurus. I have a jillion rounds through it. Tight as a drum and dead on at 10y.
Heard bad things about Colt and Taurus. But they also make good ones now and again.
Given my ruthers? Slab's is my go-to.
