Believe it or not, they're factory builds matey, though not the "base model".

Schultz & Larsen Victories with a tad extra paid for better walnut (photo really doesn't do them credit).
They're outstandingly accurate rifles, with bolts being near as dammit a "piston fit" in the action & cut rifled, tin lapped barrels.
Funnily enough, they're available in Oz but not in the US. Scratch

22-250 foreground, wearing a Schultz & Larsen Superdome suppressor & a Schmidt & Bender PMII 5-25x56, 34mm tube scope. Main purpose is taking foxes out to 300yds. I'll add an objective mounted NV module once I can afford it.

.270 in the middle with a Leupold VXIII 3.5-10x42 for red & sika deer here in the UK & what I'll be taking to South Africa as my main rifle for plains game next year.

.243 up top with another S&L Superdome suppressor & a Leupold FXII 6x42 for my UK stalking of roe & fallow deer. It's also impressively accurate & long legged with 55gr BlitzKings on foxes.

Looking at the above photo, my mate Paul (who has just received his firearms dealer's licence & from whom I bought the rifles) noticed the bolt knob on the 22-250 wasn't hollow like the other two & a different shape. After he mentioned this, I also noticed the bolt knob's finish wasn't as fine as on the other two.
Quick phone call from him to the importer (they're Danish) this morning & I get a message saying a bolt with the hollow & matching the other two is on its way.

That's what I call first class customer service.

Apparently some rifles have come in with the non hollow knobs & some without. The importer himself prefers the hollow ones, so he's going to push for that being what he gets in future.

Yes, they are available out here mate, as are the Rigby line of rifles...but they are WAY beyond my means...even as an investment.

It would be a shame to risk scratching them up in the scrub, but then again, rifles are meant to be used. Will a .270 be enough rifle for plains game in SA mate? I would have thought something like a 300 Wim Mag would be the minimum calibre to consider.

The PH I'm in touch with reckons the .270 is plenty, even with 130gr bullets, as I'm not looking to go after wildebeest or eland, with kudu being pretty much the biggest thing on my list & there's red deer here bigger 'n that.
If I do decide I can afford to go after the bigger stuff, I'll get a .375 Ruger barrel, bolt & magazine & swap out those parts on the .243 to take along as a second rifle.

loads with 150grn partitions will happily take down just about any animal to walk the planet....you can get 160grn partitions too.
Ive seen articles in hunting mags where the .270 was the rifle used on african safari.....not for buff or dangerous game but plenty enough for the antelope family....
did I mention those rifles are beautiful???

Hope I don't disturb the fun, but they are sending a new bolt for your rfle without mentioning to check it out with "go" and "no-go" -gauges???
One can exchange the bolts of all K-98's, but once they did it with mine (which I just bought and had real pitting on the bolt's surface)… it resulted in a lot of headspace and I had the lugs of the bolt welded up and refitted…
it's not to scare you, just to say to pay attention to this. It's a very nice rifle and it should not be "ruined" by such a moment of less attention.

No worries on that score according the the importer, as the bolts are held to less than 0.001" on all critical dimensions, including the relationship between bolt face & locking lugs.
I dropped off the old bolt about midday & while I was there the post arrived, with my replacement bolt.
