There is generally a temp drop after very big volcanic eruptions, I dont se why this would be any different.
Will it be large enough to cause long term temp drops, i doubt it, it currently just isnt big enough, thats my w.a.g.
However if it did make a habit of doing that sized eruption every couple of weeks, yeah apart from a temp drop the expat tongan population in NZ and Oz would rise dramatically.

As a follow up to Part 1 of the "blizzard"... The govt scraped the road I live on 4 times, after the stuff had melted away. You've gotta love the efficiency!
As for Part 2... I got almost 1/2" of snow, which melted that day.

Heh. I maybe didnt get the camera over far enough, that does read -13F
But, at least in our dry state, -14F and lower doesn't really matter. If you have clothes good enough for subzero weather, you're usually set for much colder. We usually snowmobile in, so figure a 30mph wind chill on that brisk morning air
We were going Ice fishing. Its been remarkably consistent over the years, being between -14 and -19F where we unload at the trailhead.

Meanwhile in OZ, todays lucky dip in Brisbane, 37 deg C (99f) and around 75% humidity so no, no a dry heat.
