I've gotten a few emails from "HuntingNut" requiring new password changes, or asking for other personal information.

THESE ARE FAKE!

I have not mass emailed anyone in 20 years, nor do I ever require password changes. The ONLY time I ever make password changes is at the request of a verified user. Usually this happens when someone forgot their password, but they no longer have access to the email address they registered from. These are usually members who've been here for many years.

But, please dont respond to any spam or phishing emails. If you have a question if something is legitimate or not, just post here on the site asking, or send a PM message.

Thanks!

Mongrel SCAMMERS…there should be an open season declared on them!!

It used to be that the SCAMMERS were from Nigeria, but they are from pretty much anywhere. The Indians have set up big Call Centres in two cities, Mumbai and another one on the East Coast, and also there are Call Centres in Pakistan and Bangladesh…and let’s not exclude the Russian Mafia as they too are behind many of the PHISHING emails. Seems scamming is big business these days.

I have adopted the practice of NEVER clicking on, or opening, a link in an email, because that is what will usually send you info to the SCAMMERS or those PHISHING for your information. Another thing I will do if I am sure of the sender is to click on the name of the Sender in the RECEIVED FROM line. This will show the email address from which it was sent. Another thing to watch for is anomalies in spelling or in the FONT used in the email. They will often substitute a different font for some letters.

Did I mention I hate SCAMMERS with a vengeance and would happily lead a “hit team” on them.
