I don't know if it is same dates in other states but early teal season in Texas closed yesterday, September 24. My overall impression is that it was a pretty good season. Lot's of birds seen and taken. I hunted 4 days and got the limit of 4 ducks on two of those days, the first day of the season and the last.

Yesterday was eaisly the best. It rained hard during the night and was still raining as I drove out to the hunting area. It quit just in time to put the decoys out. We had teal buzzing us in the dark and took our first bird just minutes after legal shooting time. Two of us hunting together both had limits by 30 minutes after sunrise. We saw 100's of ducks in the sky. What a pretty site as the sun rose. Now we wait for big duck season to open November 4.

Any other teal hunters out there? How did you do?

Sounds like you guys had a good time. Also sounds like you ran into some duck weather.
