I picked up one of these in 25-35 at an auction over the next weekend. It's a takedown version - anybody know what that means? The forearm obviously comes off with a little lever on the bottom but I don't see any other obvious takedown features.

Anybody have any recommendations for care and feeding of one of these? It's my first.

If it is a takedown model it would seperate at the chamber end of the barrel. You then would have the stock and action as one piece. And the barrel and forearm as the other piece...Hope this helps...

Remove the forend, then open the action. You should be able to unscrew the barrel with your hand, but repeat OPEN THE ACTION.
You won't be able to unscrew the barrel with the action closed, and you can damage the extractor.
