Just curious if you folks are seeing any spot shortages of any reloading components as part of the recent gun buying activity? The local Cabelas was out of some powders and primers last weekend until they get more in. My favorite small gun shop sold 100 guns last week and was scrambling to get some components. I was in a larger gun shop today and got what I needed in the way of powder and bullets. Some of the selections were getting low and a few were sold out. The store manager said he was selling a lot of stuff and did not foresee and real supply problems. Take care...

I think it is much the same everywhere. In my local sporting goods store I bought the last 4 trays of large magnum rifle primers they had. They were not even sure when they would get another shipment in. Many guns being sold there as well. I hope there will not be a supply problem but with our new to be president only time will tell.

When demand increases dramatically, supplies dwindle. The normal ratio of supply and demand has been disrupted. Recent demand increases have created a self fulfilling situation, hence, a temporary shortage. Eventually, a correcting of the market will take place and supplies return to normal.

I might be an idiot, and if I prove to be wrong, all of you guys can call me one, but I think that Obama is going to have WAY too much on his plate the next four years to worry about us gun owners.

I think that Obama is very smart, and chooses his battles wisely.
I just don't think that he wants to pick a fight with us gun owners anytime soon.
If he does, his honeymoon is over, and his feathers are sure to get plucked, and he for sure knows that he will be bloodied.
There are many Pro-Gun Democrats that will turn real fast on the guy if he tries anything with guns.

The Arab has until 1 December to respond to Judge Souter concerning his birth certiciate and there are several other lawsits pertaining to illegal actions on his part concerning this election. Mostly they have to do with his citizen ship and ,I think, foreign money.

I was looking for Federal LR Mag GM (Fed215M) primers from Georgia to NY - nothing.
I hit Gander in Syracuse and the man I spoke to suggested Ra-Lin in Syracuse. So off I go.
They had 1000 primers - I cleaned them out.

Joe,
Same story around here. There are some stockouts, but you can usually get what you need to reload. My preferred brand of bullets were not available so I had to buy a substitute.
Regarding the President-elect, he has said that he intends to use Executive Orders to effect immediate changes. He could require background checks and fees to be paid on all firearms, ammunition and reloading components transactions. We could even see the "bound books" come back where we have to log all ammunition and reloading component sales as we did some years ago when buying .22 ammo. All the best...

Restocked prior to the election. But will need to restock again in a month or two. Like Gil said...Reloading components are out there. Ya just have look for them a bit harder and/or wait for backorders...

I just stocked up at a gun show last week end, but I see Midway USA and Cabelas have many items in stock.

I was looking over their stock [Midway] and a lot of the components that I use are "Out of Stock". But can be "Backordered"...

I went to the C&E Gun show this weekend and the Obama effect has taken hold. They had to call in the Fire Marshal to make people leave. I have never seen so many peeps trying to get into one door. I had to park in the grass and walk a ways to get to the show the following day and it was still packed. One Fellow sold over 70K worth of ammo on Saturday alone from what I gathered from his conversation with disappointed customers looking to buy. I got lucky and scored several bricks of primers from a vendor who had set some aside for the following day. Got them at a nice price too...$25 bucks a brick for CCI LR, SR and SP. I remember when I could get them for $9.50 a brick. Still, it was better than some of the prices I saw.
Prices for guns is getting to far outta whack. People are trying to make the sport for rich only when it should be for everyone. Even simple break open rifles were going for $450+ and that was for H&R rifles. They are going to price themselves out of a job if they are not carful and we wont have to worry about Obama then. But then again...it might just be the way I am looking at things. Hard to tell with all the buzz going around what is truth and what is fiction. All I know is that we the gun owners are in trouble and I hope that my children and grandchildren will still have the right hunt and shoot as did my father and grandfathers.
