What I can never understand is those that will purchase a rifle with the intent of being the most accurate/consistent as possible then put a budget scope on it !!!

I've seen guys spend hard earned cash (upwards of a grand)on a good rifle then complain about it never giving thought to their new on sale scope they got a great deal on at Wal-mart for only $89 ....sometimes they pay the extra $50 to upgrade to the better one.
wtf Give me a break !!!

My advise is to put your money into a good scope.......spending more on it than the gun isn't such a stupid idea as some seem to think.
You might even find your cheap/inexpensive rifle is better than what you thought.

If need be hold off and save a little longer....you'll be happier in the long run !!!

Pretty much agree with chambered, and I will no longer buy a rifle scope combo, just the rifle please I'll find my own crappy scope.

What I've found/My advice (FWIW)? :
If you plan on running glass only, no back-up sights, invest in premium stuff that goes on sale, the very best you can afford, plus 100$- end of story there for a lot of reasons. A big game/long range hunt requires the best gear you can afford and easilly the object most prone to failure/damage is your scope. Also- invest in preimum rings and bases- stuff that's bomb-proof steel.

Although on the flip side I just got a rifle with a scope- yeh aint a top shelf one but the price was right and it let me get on the range ASAP. After two boxes of 168gr Fed GMM it was still drilling holes on a 6" swinger @ 300y. Not bad for a 90$ 16x hunk of junk that came with the gun!

Weeee!

ITD Sask? I could have sworn it was Alberta but my memory isn't my strongest attribute. They were good to deal with and I have them on my "trusted" list.
