Long range Deer rifle
Mauser 98 cal. .264 win.mag
Leupold Vari Xlll 4,5-14x50

The sort of wood I used on this stock was Danish Laburnum as I have cut by myself the year before. The Laburnum wood is nearly the same hardness as the Walnut, but have some extraordinary beautiful grain. The new carved stock is bright and yellow, but it’s getting darker by the years.

I don’t know where you can get Laburnum wood. Myself cut the one I used ten years ago. I only got one blanks back. It is cut in the same outline as the stock on the photo, and its 2½-inch wide. /Mauser
