I always keep my die lock rings tight, I have had them come loose, and made for some time with a bullet puller, I also replace my die lock rings with Hornady lock rings, I like the design more.

Howdy All:

I've bought several sets of used dies before..the latest was a 3 die set of Forsters in 25-06..I paid a whopping $4.50 out the door they were a little rough but was tickled pink at my find.I sent them back to Forster, and they fully reconditioned them for me,replaced a decapping assembly and over tourqed and stripped screws..and got all the rust off of them, inside and out...basiclly making them factory new..Total cost for the makeover..$40.00..that with the price of the dies I originally paid..I saved big time on buying new.I've also done this with Reddings dies as well..You can save big bucks on them..I usually save 1/2 the price or more...

Mac11700,
Glad to see you here and hope you post often. I agree that used dies are my preference and I look over whatever is available on on each visit to a gun shop. All the best...
Gil
