It's a Belgian Comblain 1870s or so (thanks for the picture name ). I had a few things right though. Where's Aloysis when ya need him?

Well done Suz...I deliberately left the name of the shotgun in the file name and you, being the observant little girly you are, picked up on it.

If you have a look at the first pic, you can just see the last few letters of the name Comblain...this gun is well worn, but worn well.

No doubt Aloys will be along shortly to give his accolades.

I happen to know a little bit about Comblain, but I just wanted to see if you knew it too Smile
It was 1 of the first breech-loaders for the belgian army and the civil forces. Originaly in 11x50 R black powder round. Also in 11x53 R for export and afterwards in 12 gauge for the colored troops in belgian Congo (as they were only allowed to have shotguns, no rifles)
