Actually I very much believe this picture is real. I've seen it posted around in a few places reciently. CCDs in trailcameras are cheap so they dont respond quickly to changes in brightness. Most of the deer where its transparent are areas where until the deer jumped up, had bright light. When the top of the deer covers it up, the CCD still "remembers" the brightness and goofs up the picture slightly making it appear ghosted.

Very similar to if you look at a bright light then at something dark, you still see part of the light on top of the dark object even though the light isnt there anymore.

Next time you shoot a deer check out its tail and see if it is in an erect position as this one is...Most of the ones I've shot are lying flat against the rear or in a down position when dead...Maybe not...

wtf does'nt anybody see a problem with the deers eye?Looks like the pic was taken at night after the deer was dead-or at least caught in the flash at night! The backportion of the spine does'nt look right either-like it is "scalloped".

Hm, not a photographer so I am not sure.

Still, a good shot none the less.

I can see that we need to recruit a photo expert to this sight...

I think this is a real photo, you can just see the shadow line below the deer.
The freeze frame should be caused by the flash.

Yes you can "see through" the deer, but nothing special to it, the actual shutter speed of the camera may be as low as 1/60 second where the flash is at 1/10000 second.
The deer is moving fast passing the camera, after the flash, the deer have moved out of the way and the camera still recoding the background.

Sort of if you take photo at night and leave your shutter open for a while to capture the background.

(I reckon I am a bit of photographic expert, I ought to be, I run a camera shop for my side job Very Happy )

I am suspicious of it because there is no blurring of the deer. If it was moving and the exposure were long enough to see the background through the deer, the deer should be blurred. The shadow of the arrow and of the ears appears to be toward the right in the picture, not in line with the flash from the camera. Lastly the deer is dead, its tongue is hanging out the deer's mouth, eyes are glazed (they should be brighter if it is alive), and there is shadow other places that look out of place.
The photo is not of high enough clarity to zoom much but I can copy it and look at the histogram to tell for sure if it is photo-shopped.

Ok, I looked at the histogramm and it is modified. That doesn't necessarily mean the image was added but the histogram shows some kind of mod. I then zoomed in to do a pixel count....
The pixel density on the dear is 4 times that of the pixels of the background. The deer was added to the picture after the picture was blown up to fit the deer.

It is a poor job of photoshopping.
I do agree that the arrow shot was a great one. It is too bad that someone felt the need to make it appear to be more than it was.
