It's about as much fun as you can have with out blowing your arm off.

I found a dumb one tonight! A button buck let me walk across a hay field to get within 100 yards. That mistake cost him his life. I hit a rib going in with a 139 gr Hornady SST, that made a big mess.

A button buck

I harvested one on the last day of my season last year. I'm debating whether I should drop the hammer on one this year if the opportunity presents itself or let them grow for next season. I guess it will all depend if my freezer is empty of venison.

Wondered where all the bucks went. Very nice deers guys!! I have to tell you it's very hard for me to appreciate some one else getting a deer when I didn't, but I'll suck it up and congratulate!! Boy there are 2 very beautiful, big, fat deer on this thread. Gotta get me some acorns next season or somethin.

Suz

Suz, I feel for you not getting a deer but have been envious of you being out in the woods hunting all this time. We are 5 weeks into the season (4 bow + 1 week rifle) and I haven't made it out yet. We go until 15 January. I appreciate their success. Maybe its are different perspectives, your hunting season has ended and mine still has opportunity. Though I have rain and wind tomorrow which is my first opportunity from work to get out.

Best guesstimate 160-180 dressed. 17 1/2 " inside spread . He's not huge but a nice all around MD Buck. I can try for a couple more, one in Muzzleloader and another in rifle . If I'm lucky enough

2 already and two more potential! You must have a deep freeze? Texas deer are smaller than their northern ones and I have to borrow the neighbor's freezer if I get more than one.

Just under Md regulations I can get 1 buck and 10 doe's in each season (Archery-muzzle loader-Firearms) after two doe's are taken in either season I can take another buck with a extra tag. So I can take 36 deer total with 6 being bucks Very Happy and then I have the LOA I can hunt under at the Airport witch is 20 deer a year between 6 of us and under the LOA thats 24-7-365 Very Happy and they are tagged under crop damage.. If I get 4-5 a year I'm tickled Very Happy
Joe
