Thats easy. Shoot the target once and purposely miss the paper with the next shots that "count" in the group. Very Happy

But doesnt a jagged hole count as a one hole group or no ?? Confused

I do most of my shooting at the range and am a bit of a fanatic about accuracy. One of our prominent gunmen (I forget who) said "the only interesting gun is an accurate one." I have my own standards for 5 shot groups at 100yds. I might add most of my varmint rifles are heavy barreled ones. I fully expect all groups to print .4" or less. Hunting rifles for big game must group .8" or less or I'll worry the rifle to death. These are arbitrary standards, but they work well for me. Best wishes.

NEW 84m kimber in 204 ruger.
got 4 holes touching at 100 yrds
center to center was .614.
5th shot was a flinch due to a mud dauber flying into my hair.
.
This gun shoots better than i ever will without a proper rest.
This was shot off an old couch pillow at 100 yrds resting on my tractor.

I can reasonably expect this from this gun .I should be able to pop crows
out to 300 yrds and yotes out to 400.. imho

Hello Varmonter,

I don't have the .204 yet, but will have soon. I have it's big brother, the .222Rem. Mag. which uses the same case. This was used in benchrest
competetion for some time. My .222Rem. Mag. will reliably put 5 shots into .3" at 100yds. whch is plenty good for nailing woodchuck and other small critters. I'm quite happy with it as I'm sure you are yours. Best wishes.

There is no reason a sporter barrel will not shoot well, if the barrel is worth a darn and the rifle is properly made. Below is a group shot with my custom 260 as pictured on the photo pages. The barrel is a magnum weight sprorter that has been fluted. The group is .142

good shooting Swampfox.

Dimitri look at Swampfox's grouping. that is not a one hole grouping even tho its actually one hole. a one hole grouping would be the target with a hole the size of the bullet itself.

impossible no matter how good you or your gun shoots {statistically it will happen by random chance every few trillion shots lol}

Spacedone,

Oh ok well if I call what Swampfox got a one hole group or not I probably will never get that kind of grouping to cheat and call it a one hole group anyways with my rifle with its iron's Embarassed

I'm pleased as punch with my 30.06 and 6.5 x 55 shooting 5/8" & 3/4" groups at 100 yds.
I can shoot milk jugs at 300 yds with the 30.06 (2.5 x 10 scope) and outto 220 yds with the 6.5 (4 x pistol scope mounted in the scout style).

Now if this was a prarie dog rifle then I'd want 1/2" or less at 100.
