There have been a lot threads on this subject here and there and it seems that there is very little dissatisfaction with the RCBS. Other brands don't seem to fare as well.

Some seem to be happy with the new Lymans.

My RCBS hasn't missed a beat yet.

Paul, I don't figure I'm losing anything safety-wise by seating a bullet over a charge that just came off the scale. If I was just throwing a charge from a measure, without weighing each, it could make sense to throw them all before seating so I could do a visual comparison.

Post some pictures Crackshot, so I can see what the completed set up looks like.

I'm thinking about saving up and buying the RCBS 1500 also.

Here is what I got right now. The wife stole the camera for the girls band concert and left it in the car. Confused

I also wiped the inside down with a dryer sheet to keep the grains from clinging to the sides when I empty it. Seems to work pretty good. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Since I'm not going to get a progressive reloader, I very well might save up for the 1500.

I have Dillon progressive's, I still load 1 at a time for experimentation purposes though.

I recently replaced a Lyman DPS 1200 with a ChargeMaster 1500 and consider it a step up.

I used my Lyman for two years seemingly without problems but recently had struggled mightily getting a new rifle to shoot accurately with any consistency. Adding the update kit made the DPS faster and much easier to empty but a few weeks ago, that rifle shot a one-hole group with a load but shot a 1.5" group with another batch of the same load a day later. If I hadn't been using my chronograph, I would not have picked up on the velocity deviation changing from 37 fps the first time to 151 fps the second time. A check of the DPS 1200's scale indicated that it had "lost its mind."

Even though Lyman advertises that the DPS should have racing stripes because it is so fast, the RCBS is faster. And I loaded 100 rounds on it and test-fired some - the deviation over five shots was 31 fps, so it is accurate. Its operation is also quieter and emptying it is much easier.

A bit of advise. I wipe mine out with a dryer sheet before useing. The powder wont stick to the sides and it emptys completely then.
Very Happy Surprised scented dryer sheets add 200fps to your loads as well with no pressure increases Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing .

Hmmm... Anyone interested in a digital powder dispenser race? Pick a powder to use and time throwing a 100 grain charge? I'm curious as to which one is fastest. I have the PACT.
