Great work mate. 156 paces is about 120 metres in my pacing...no mean feat with a .22 rimfire mate.

No Slim...not big mate, but you get used to stepping it out a bit when you are in the Army. I average about 120 paces to 100 metres and my "normal" pace is about 79cm. We needed to know this because we would count paces when navigating in the bush...especially at night when following a compass bearing.

got a big ol hare on friday afternoon at 250yards with .223...missed with first shot as I held between its ears. went out today with the teenage lads and managed to get a couple of bunnies with the .12ga...came home and cranked up the gas cooker and campoven. we managed to eat the whole plurry lot..man was it nice 2hrs before the bunny was eating 2hrs later getting eaten itself.....life is good.

Well, four days spent walking the paddocks at my hunting spot and didn't see a single rabbit...most disappointing. Saw plenty if kangaroos and wallabies, but we don't shoot them.

Every morning around 8am and again at around 7pm we had dingoes and feral dogs howling in the hills above our camp, but not long enough to identify where they actually were. I have heard of a guy that could call them in, but it is not something that is easy to do. At least we had a good time relaxing, sitting around the fire at night (it was freezing) drinking beer and rum and solving the world's problems.

Oh well, next time we go down hopefully the rabbits will have made a come back from whatever has killed them off...probably Calisi Virus (80% kill rate).

Tomorrow night's curry.

One with the shotgun & the other with the CZ455 & RWS subsonic at a lasered 138yds.
We've shot that rifle & ammo out to 200yds & though the trajectory is somewhat rainbow shaped, it's still capable of 3 shots in an inch off the bipod & back bag.
