Here, baiting is favoured in the non-mating season with calling during that season. The dogs seem partial to seal. During the big game season they are often hunted at moose kill sites where they scavenge the entrails. We are limited to centrefire calibers of. 225 or smaller. I prefer the. 223 as it is cheap to shoot and I can get in a lot of practise. The 22-250 is also popular. I find it a tad noisy.
