I have reseated hundreds of primers without a single missfire. It is a bit nerve wracking punching the first few out but slow and steady will do it every time.

Well, it goes bang on me once.

I was trying to remove a supposedly dead primer from a crimped military brass.
It was an old 7.62cal military that miss fired.
The primer already have a firing pin dent on it,
the projectile and powder were already removed powder.

So I place the brass on my press and well, decap it.
It does feel sorta stuck in the case..
Ugh.. UUGHHH!!..... *BANG* !!!!

Never quite figured out what made the primer goes bang during removal...
Well, it is crimped so larger force is necessary (but not that large!!)

I need a new decapping pin and replacement underwear right after that.

I know I shouldn't laugh Gelan....but that conjures up a very funny picture mate. Fortunately you were wearing safety glasses so you weren't injured mate.

Sounds like he needed safety "shorts" instead of safety "glasses"...

Vince you as know that I am one of those that need to wear a glasses on almost all waking hours..
Yeah my large frame glasses (which are no longer being made because all the newer styles are using tiny frames ) is a sort of my safety glasses.

Funny that you mention it, there is no bits of anything that flew around at all.
All the pieces of the pin and bits off the primers etc is contained inside the brass.
So maybe tis better for me to wear an earmuff instead of glasses because the dirty underwear is more due to
the shock to have something DETONATED in my loading bench near my storage of powder and primers..

A person familiar with ordance disposal told me that they use WD-40 on primers to make them inert. I still prefer to reload them and use them for their intended purpose.
