I found this series of articles on another site and thought they might be of interest to any .44 Special fans. They are on PDF files and some of them date back to the 40s. It also includes writings from the 44 Associates!

Dern it Don! Now you've got me wondering about getting a .44 Special and I can't afford this stuff!

I am waiting to hear back on a bid I made on a Smith $ Wesson Model 24 4-inch. I have wanted a .44 Special for a long time. All the best...
Gil

I'm already thinking about a second .44 SP. Lipsey's has a run of Ruger Bisley flattops that have caught my eye.

I have been kicking the idea around of getting into that three gun cowboy shooting. Either of you guys have any experience in three gun?

I shot Cowboy Action for a while before my current job screwed up all my hobbies. I used Ruger Vaqueros and a Marlin 1894, all chambered in .45 Colt, as well as a Rossi Overland 12 ga. If I was going to start over on gear I'd go with short barreled Ruger New Vaqueros and a Marlin 1894 chambered in .357 Mag, along with maybe a Stoeger Coach Gun in 20 ga. Load the handguns and rifle with .38 Specials. Less recoil means you'd be a little more competitive and the ammo would be cheaper. Having the handguns and rifle in the same caliber sure simplifies things at the loading table.
