Very interesting read at the Washington Times paper where a reporter by the name of Emily Miller jumps through hoops to get her gun in DC.

here in NZ the powers that be made a ,in my humble opion major cock up. first we took handguns away. once upon a time every household was allowed one for home defence. our system was get permit to procure, go buy said firearm, go back to police station and regester said firearm, take gun home and get on with life haveing just had 2 really pleasant visits to your local police station. yes we had a firearms regester but who cared???
the powers that be stopped that whole system gave us a lifetime licence which we now renew every 10 years. we have a 4 tiered arms licence. general/military semiauto/pistol/collector.
go figure...

I have been following this story since November of last year and this reporter has finally taken possession of her handgun!! She also has a video on her site on which she testify at a DC judiciary council meeting that the DC laws are butting heads with the SCOTUS ruling on 2nd amendment.

Well let's see. I walk into the store pick my handgun, fill out a one sided application. Wait 5 minutes while they call the info in, pay and leave. Oh yeah, now with my CWP I don't have to wait the 5 minutes.
That was however a good story and was happy that she persevered.

Emily was on Cam and Company last Thursday night !!!
The first 8 or so minutes she talks about the Cornyn amendment (Fast and Furious) being deleted in the new budget, after that she discusses issues with transportation of her new gun.......it would be funny if it wasn't so true !!!
