Very Happy
Okay finally got to range with rotor. Only got a chance to fire a few shots as they wanted to do some downrange maintenance. The splattered hit at 11 is a 45 Colt 230 grain air dropped wheel weight cast. The hit in the centre section left side is a 230 grain FMJ flat point again 45 Colt. The other two hits are 357 mag jacketed soft points moving at around 1500 fps. All but the lead bullet left a dimple. The lead bullet or at least what stuck to the rotor I saw slide off the rotor to the ground. I was shooting at 50 meters and not very accurately. I took a couple of quick shots with my 9mm and 22 mag but alas I didn't connect. Just couldn't get in the groove with so few shots and jumping between calibers. If the weather holds this week I will try rifle fire at 100 meters. I expect a broken rotor but we shall see. Hard cast .35 Remington, FMJHP .223 and perhaps a FMJ .308. It all depends if I have the range to myself.

See, it wasn't a total lose.

Ok, 50m and 100m? Most folks around here use the gongs for about 10x further - from 500 to 1000m. This is just so they don't have to waste gas to go check their paper targets. You aren't carrying that weight down to the 100m line are you? That would be a good workout.

Yes slim I will carry it all that and down to 200 also. With my eyesight, unless I use a scope, sometimes noise is all I have to tell me I hit something :-)

At yer age ya might want to set up a microphone at the gong and a speaker at the shooting line.

You might also get a little red wagon. I've started using one to get all my target "gear" down to the berm.

It will also make it easier to get all the piece back after you shoot it with a high-power rifle.
