Is that 10 full cords or face cords. I ask because when we were heating strictly with wood in SW Michigan we would only use about 5 full cords a year. Just curious.

I burn 4 cords of oak a season. All cut with a Stihl 20", double bit axe, 4 lb sledge and steel wedge. Got 2 more cords to go.

Stihl Wood Boss 18" love it, Poulan 18" also, not made for tough stuff. Really don't heat here much, used for land clearing. Lot's of clearing.

our trailer (in picture) measures 3.6cubic meters=1 cord deck is 8'x4' sides are about 5' high.
we have big old house with log fire going pretty much around clock and open fire going at night to heat it. snow and frosts sure keep things cool.
we've got 10 trailer loads stacked here now

WOW...I don't actually own a heater of any kind...unless you want to count my PIG.

Both brands are pretty good. Stihl have had a good name for years, and the Husqvarna, although fairly new to the market have well and truly proven their quality.

I have an axe and a couple of bush saws...no chainsaw though.

I'll raise you with a Honda... starts so easy that even your wife can mow the lawn.

Here the chainsaw is a husky, the hedge is attacked by a Stihl HL100 and all the rest of non-tree-green by the Stihl FS280.
Good machinery makes all the work easy.

Aloy...my new Stihl has ergo start...you pull out starter cord and that coils a spring, you can pull it with 2 fingers if you like, the spring then does the cranking thingy......sometimes takes two or three but it is so darn easy its frightening.

Most things coming from Sweden show quality...

on the other hand: how to beat Vince when he catches a few 'natives' and let them cut the wood with his saw for a few beers afterwards?
No gass or oil needed, no exhaust, no noise, good for employment and when it's decent beer he might also have "ergo start"...
