With the approaching holiday season, I fear the attacks in France may be just the beginning. Be aware of your surroundings and carry spare mags. I don't plan on visiting any gun free zones, they are prime targets.

My daughter called me last weekend after she had an argument with one of her liberal friends who made her feel like she didn't care about the latest round of shootings because she wasn't opposed to gun ownership. Had lots of questions. Pointed out that they had all taken place in gun-free zones and that I don't go out in crowded places anymore without carrying which surprised her.

She has worked and lived in France for 3 years so called yesterday just to talk. Told her now she knows why I carry.

Having a gun only gives you a choice to defend yourself. Drives me nuts the liberals who think CCP folk go out looking for a fight. I flat out have no desire to ever kill someone... but if there was no other option, and the life of my family was on the line, I want the option.

Even as a soldier, who was trained to kill the enemy, (our mission started with the words "Seek out and close with the enemy, kill or capture him...) I had no wish or urge to kill another human being.

Having said that, every person has the right to defend themselves and the responsibility to protect their family from harm, or worse. The possibility of encountering the likes of extremist terrorists who believe killing innocent men women and children (infidels) is an obligation directed by their prophet via their holy book increases every day. In this case, the best possible tools for the job are needed, and the least of these is a readily available firearm.

Yes, wanting to kill is not in our nature, it's not how we were raised, and hatred is not part of our culture. Unfortunately, our respective governments believe that diluting the existing people and culture of their countries with a people who are raised with a culture of hate. This middle eastern culture is nothing new this goes back hundreds if not thousands of years. Are these people coming into your countries a quietly assimilating into your existing culture or are they fighting to change your culture, perhaps fighting for sharia law.

You say you will protect your family, what about your neighbors family, your friends family, your neighborhood, your country? I think a good many of us have already proven that we, despite our peaceful nature, are willing to put our lives on the line for the good of those we call our people.

If a tree is diseased you cut out the disease and burn it lest it destroy the rest of the orchard. If your pool is full of piranha do you just eliminate those that have bitten you?
