Isn't it scaring to reach 100%? What can you expect next time?

Thanks boys.

Yup, Vince, busting clays and pinging steel is pretty instantaneously gratifying!

Aloy- 100% is some weird math- don't ask me to explain...cuz I'm still learning it. It's a percentage of.....etc. I'll get the book, BRB!

New results got posted- un-mixed up this time. 4th OA, 1st Govt. Model 1911 (I shoot in the Single Stack Division- stock Govt. Models only.) Razz
These are local weekday matches- but, with some excellent talent! The weekend matches bring out our local talent and the big boys State and Nationwide. I usually don't shoot weekends- I have to work. (Thanks Bushy.... Mad )

Stovey, I love your attitude mate. Winning is nice, but at the end of the day the test is whether or not you enjoyed yourself, and you certainly seem to be doing that in spades mate.

Great point. I want to expand on that some.

I'm a "D" Classified shooter with the USPSA. Bottom of the rankings. New people sometimes come to me for advice, cuz I'm approachable and not a Pro, and I love giving them some. But I also steer them to the Pro's, too. The Masters and GM's I've had the pleasure to shoot with are always willing to give advice. I got in a slump a while back, pretty bad one, and didn't know what I was doing wrong. Rob Leatham (the Great One!) gave me some advice. I once shot pretty poorly on a stage and was all hang-dog. The advice? "Your grip is too loose, stop anticipating recoil. Just grip the living snot out of it and hit the trigger. Don't worry about aiming, if yer pointed in the right direction you will hit it every time if you don't jerk the gun (see his video "Aiming is useless"). And my name is ROB, not Mr. Leatham." His insight is so KISS it's amazing, and it's helped me be a better shooter and often I shoot above my ranking because of his advice and others!

The shooting sports have one thing a lot of other sports don't have: Pro's that give advice freely and friendly. They pay it forward because they know the importance that a positive impact on new shooters has on our future as firearms and hunting nuts!

It's more fun to have fun with others that are also having fun and willing to helping out!

CRAP! here's comes Bush-boss. And he don't look happy. Yessir! Right away sir! Back to the barn in a jiffy! Feedin', muckin', pickin' hooves and brushin', all on the way sir. Aye-Aye sir!

Ya know Stovey, I've experienced the same thing on the pistol range, rifle range and shotgun range mate and it's a real feel good feeling knowing that regardless of the size of the fish, we are all in the same pond. Of course there is always the odd exception, but those guys are usually identified quickly.

Like you mate, as a C Grade shotgun shooter, I too am at the bottom of the grading scale and I've actually had a AA grade shooter coach me during a competition. It's great to improve, but most importantly the fun factor is always there. Anybody who has ever followed our squad around in a Sporting Clays comp knows just how much fun and enjoyment we have. We have even been known to dress up in fancy dress. We have been accused (by a very serious high level shooter) that we were not taking things seriously and our attitude was putting him off his game. Other shooters told him to pull his head in and lighten up and let us enjoy our shoot.

Yep! I figured it was a back-up gun. Is it hard to get the 45 Colt revolver out of your boot?
I use a 45/410 derringer as my back-up. It's loaded with 410 slugs.

Which reminds me. The Kimber and the DPMS both need cleaning.

This is one of the "dress ups" we did at the shoot. Unfortunately I can't find a group pic showing all six of us...
