That does not represent my idea of a Montana buck. I know you said that you borrowed the picture but I have never personally seen a spike deer like that in Washington. I have to assume a poor diet or some disease is responsible for the weak antlers. Do you have any idea of the location?

One year I got one that was a three point and the horns a little smaller than these

I see one or two like this about every other year. Usually, its a fawn "button buck" that actually grows antlers in its first year of being born.

That looks like the case in this picture, those oversized ears dont fit the baby sized head... I'd bet alot its a fawn that grew tiny horns. Thats some GOOD genetics.
