You cut the grass unless she likes to do it, then by all means sit it out on the pourch sipping a cold one. The master must be obeyed and your job is supervision anyhow. Smile

LOL!

I try to do a few tasks she usually does during the week... like loading or unloading the dishwasher, running a load of laundry when shes not looking etc etc. That tends to remove the "he doesnt so anything!" thoughts some wifes get. If she has specific things for me to do I try to get through them or feign illness if I forget... Very Happy

Wash the car (at the car wash); do the dishes (only if you have a dishwasher); vacuum (only if you have an Oreck); laundry (only if you put them into the machines, never to take them out); loading ammo, hunting; fishing; golfing, bowling; hobbies; watching your favorite TV shows; & etc. What more does a woman want out of us? I through in cooking as an extra (on the grill). Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Well Dimitri....that is one well loaded question...especially if our ladies read this forum.

The politically correct answer is: Marriage is a team "sport" and as such both parties should pull their weight equally ans share the workload. wtf Shocked

However, in reality it is a bit different than that. In most cases the male is the "bread winner" and works long and hard all day in the workplace. When he gets home he wants to relax and wind down. Now some ladies don't like this and start to nag so then us guys pitch in and do a bit to get them off our back. Me, I do the dishes and a few other small things around the house then disappear out into the garage to do "man" things. Very Happy Very Happy

Cheers, Vince

You guys are going to hate me for this but read it all the way through.

My wife does the laundry, cooking, dishes, vacuuming, mows the lawn, does the gardening, runs her own business, drives me everywhere we go (with some minor exceptions) helps me with my ministry, waits on me hand and foot and complains that I don't let her do enough for me. Once in a great while I do some little thing on her car, she does the shopping and won't let me carry in the groceries (with some minor exceptions) Says I need new clothes but won't buy them for herself. Once in a while I get her some flowers or a small figurine that I saw her eyeing but for the most part I don't do much in the way of correcting the imbalance of the work-load.
I know what you are thinking - she's a mail order bride from some third world country that doesn't know any better.... NOPE! She is southern lady from Montgomery, Alabama.
What DO I do to deserve this treatment? Well, when we first got married she had some severe back problems and I did everything for the first two months - she was allowed to get out of bed (with help) to use the facilities but I did everything else for her. After six months she was recovering and we slowly got her strength back and her health improved. We went dancing and did everything together. I brought her home flowers and cards and generally treated her as the queen she is.
Then I got rear ended and tore my back up. The doctor says i should walk as much as I can but no lifting over 15 pounds, no bending, twisting, kneeling etc. I can do very little in the way of working. I have tried to do the dishes but couldn't bend over the sink for long enough to do the dishes. I am on Social security total disability and the furthest I have walked in the last year is about 3 miles at one time. I am better than I was in that I am comfortable as long as I don't get in and out of the car - sit for prolonged periods - stand for long periods and take my meds. I have kept my ministry up but at a reduced pace and the folks are very helpful and understanding about that.
So, If you want to be waited on hand and foot - DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT! It isn't worth it. I would much rather be sharing our workload and working for a living than to be where I am right now. I am working at getting better and back to work with the grace of God. Better each day is my motto and even though I don't always feel that way I say it thinking that someone is listening and in faith all things are possible.

PaulS,

Sounds like you found a keeper. Smile

I never thought of getting a wife to wait on me hand and foot, would be too boring, I posted this to see how the "jobs" are divided, and you know thouse "man" things can be considered housework and chores if your repairing the car or fixing/renovating/expanding the house or something Wink

Well Pauls, no one is going to hate you, sounds like love to me. I've been married to the same (& only women) for 42 years. We've had our battles over who does what, & I do a lot because I can get it done quicker leaving us both with time to do the things we both enjoy. Now, & for the past year, she's been dealing with health problems no one has answers for, so, I do more yet. I don't have a problem with it, because I'm retired & have no money concerns, & just do what needs to be done to have something to do. & I thank God for all my blessings, even for having my wife still around to be with, she has a brilliant mind, & if that's all she can help me with, that's fine with me. I'll take care of those things she can't, and not complain a bit. She's never complained about my shooting hobbies or the amount of money I spend on them, so, what's not to like. She says jump, & I jump. Very Happy
