Yep, when you see that many at one time it is the spider programs surfing the website for email addresses. Spammers should be used for target practice. Even the liberals would go for that.

Lets give them some useless email addresses.

Not always searching for emails. Alot of spiders just read websites regularly so they can update their search engines. Thats how say, Google always knows whats on various websites... they have computers that surf the net 24 hours a day... thousands of them.

Yeah, I'm thinking if big brother wants to keep watching let's all whip it out and give him a show, lol.

I'm not sure if you guys really know this or not. I am part of a horse oriented site and we found out that politions were checking out our website for a feel of the local voters. It would not suprise me that a lot of "Big Brothers" are watching this and other gun web sites.

Who knows...It might even be me... I'm watching you...

Actually, Google is a lot more invasive than the "ungovernment" folks. They just monitor the active talk - they don't have the computing power to go into each web page - each time you use google it sends a copy of your search and results back to itself along with your choices.
You can request that google not save information from your web site - but then nobody would know it exists.

and I am sure none of us here have to worrry about anything.

the spider can be a good thing for the site. like in the above posts. when poeple use google to search something, it can send them to this site if it matches thier search.
in a way, it is good, it can bring us new visitors.

Wow....170 visitors today...the vast majority of them in the Photo Albums.

That is true its no ones buissense unless you post it on a public forum like this one.

But I'd say we should sit back and relax and drink a nice cup of coffee or eat some popcorn as we read and post the boards and not worry who is watching be it aliens or PETA type people.

We still have privacy in this country and or Canada? I've been told a thousand times not to tell anyone or leave my social security number out where someone can see it. Have a small problem with that as my SS number is also my Service number and everyone in the world has that number or access to it.

If you want absolute privacy you will have NOT a driver's license or credit cards or CCW's or a telephone or an address or anything that might be puplic (like owning land or renting). If you don't want anyone to know who you are...Stay off the internet. Sniff, sniff...This could become a lonely place....

Alittle less privacy in your life is a good thing. If you lived a completly private life you'd be a hermit.

PS If it makes you feel better I've got no idea what your SSN (in Canada its a Social Insurance Number or SIN) is.
