I have a slight problem with my Mod. 94. I am missing the Finger Lever Pin. I found one, and it's on the way, but I can't figure out where the pin went. I'm real careful when cleaning and disassembling my guns, and I can't believe I lost that pin. Anyone familiar with this gun and the pin I'm talking about? The rifle has a scope mount on it and one of the screws that holds it on is also the finger lever pin stop screw. Which I normally would not take off while cleaning. That's the only way the pin comes out. But it's gone, I hope it didn't break and fall inside the action or something. Any ideas?

I have my Center fire manual in front of me, open to the mod 94 and I have found the "lever pin" and the screw that retains it. But not the "finger lever pin". Could you be more specific? Maybe a photo of its location?

In my book they call it a Finger Lever Pin.

Glockman55...One...It won't go there and two...It keeps giving me a virus warning (Norton)...Got another way?

I'm thinking that you are refering to the pin that the "link plate" pivits on. My ol' Jack Handle has a screw under the plate and newer models have a screw on the side of the receiver (lower front of the receiver). Am I close?

By the way...My reference is The Gun Digest Firearms Assembly/disassembly Part IV Centerfire rifles 1980 and a 1949 .30 WCF Mod 94

Sorry it works for me. the pin goes in the left side of the reciever and helps hold the firing pin in, a screw holds it in.
www.e-gunparts.com is a good site you can find about ant part for any gun made. You might have a firewall blocking you from opening it.

If it is the same part #23. We are on the right track. Simple...Not sure what the problem is. You align the link plate with the holes and insert the pin and install the stop screw. If you are dealing with an old one like mine the pin will have a groove in the middle for the stop screw that is inserted into the bottom of the link plate. Install the pin and install the screw making sure that the groove is aligned with the screw hole in the bottom front of the link plate. Did I get lost? Or....Hey...I'm trying here. With the rifle infront of me there isn't much I haven't done with this ol' Jack Handle.

I haven't got my pin yet, that was what I was saying, some how the pin is missing, and I couldn't see ant way it could have came out with the screw in. I understand how it goes back together, my 94 was made in 1972, in 30/30 cal. I guess my question was is it possible for this pin to break and fall out somewhere else. can't figure out where it went.

It's a pretty heavy pin and I doubt that it would go anywhere you couldn't see or find it in the gun. The pin that is listed Part #23 isn't even close to the firing pin which is in the bolt and held in by a friction pin (Press fit).

I think I'm lost here. You sure you installed the pin in the first place? Oops...Wrong thing to say. Right?

Pin Part #23 is the Link plate pin that holds the lower plate that has the lever and the bolt block attached to it.

Have to go feed the horses. Back later.

As the pin slides through the breech bolt and the finger lever it holds the firing pin from sliding out of the end of the bolt. there is a notch out of the bottom of the firing pin and that's where the lever pin holds the firing pin in. Now I'm confused. and I never had the pin out of my gun, that's why I wonder what happened to it. The only thing I did was take the scope mounting bracket off one time and put it back on, at that time the pin must have fell out and I didn't notice it. I don't use this gun much at all, that's why it took so long to notice that there was a problem with it. What I noticed was when I racked the lever open the firing pin slid out the back of the bolt, that's what started me looking into what was going on. as I read up on it I learned all this about this gun, and I'm still learning. I haven't fully disassembled the gun yet, I'm waiting for the parts I ordered before I do. I just wondered if any of you guys ever had this problem with this mod. gun before. Damn I need a Beer.

Oooooooh, according to the illustration I can't see how #23 has anything to do with your firing pin?????? Shocked
