Not sure where this is, but it would certainly set the heart thumping.

Tell ya what Joe.....it would put more than starch in my shorts....HEAPS more.. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy I mean....look at his "chewin' gear" in the last pic....scary.

Bushy has got it in one when he said that they are a beautiful animal....there is no question of that.

Would he be a youngun'? I have always thought that mountain lions, or is it cougar..not sure, are a bigger cat. This guy seems to have fairly short legs which leads me to think that maybe he is a juvenile. Don't know, we have nothing like this in Australia. Only thing that will eat you over here is the crocs or a dingo if he can get at you.

Mountain lion, cougar, puma,...There is another name we gave this cat and I can't think of it...

His/her age? I wouldn't know except that the young ones are usually pushed out of an older one's territory and have no place esle to go or an old one that can't hunt anymore and I doubt that's the case with this cat. I would put this one as a young one at a guess. The short legs could be attributed by his long winter coat.

Interesting thing is that the flash did not scare it off. That would concern me more than anything, cat looks like it is not scared of humans and after the flash of the first photo, if in sequence, did not run off, it came closer.

Give one good reason to keep the pets and kids inside.

Also refered to in some sections of the US as a Panther or in the SE sometimes refered to as a Panter (pronounced Painter).

Gidday Moose, how are you mate? Those eyes have to be about the eeriest thing I can think of that I've ever seen. Can you imagine coming out onto your back porch and seeing them through the screen door wtf Shocked Surprised ....I reckon my butt would be doing the old "50c - 5c" for hours.

Gidday Swampy old mate. I think that like a lot of wild animals some are becoming more accustomed to humans and their encroaching into the animals once isolated habitation.

There is one other pic in the series I was sent, but it is similar to the second one.
