Has anyone done any reloading with the 160 gr Nosler partition? I have been away from reloading for a number of years and do not remember this gr weight. I reload the .270 win. Is the 160 grain bullet for the Weatherby Mag or the new WSM?

Has anyone had any luck in the .270 win case?

Just curious.

Thanks.

I have loaded the 160 grain partition with 57 grains of Reloder 22 in the .270 Winchester. I was getting right around 2800 FPS out of a 22 inch barrel with this load.

Was getting 1.5 inch 3 shot groups out of my 700 mountain rifle with its slim barrel. This is about as good as this rifle shoots with any load I have tried. This rifle will often print the first two shots very close if not touching but usually the 3rd will open it up a bit.

Was lovin' the 160 NP in my 270 win and relied on it heavily for hard hits with that rifle....until it was rebarreled to 30 cal.

Used H1000 and can recall inch groups at worst......

The 160 gr. .270 has been around since forever, but IMHO, it can't do much more than a good 150 gr. bullet.
There was an Alaskan Game Warden named Hosea Sarber who used a long defunct 170 gr. load in his 270 to do in a bunch of Brown Bears. THAT guy had nerve!

For deer hunting with the .270 Winchester nothing shines better than the good old 130 grn. bullet packed with H4831sc.-tr

The 130 was the ONLY bullet that wouldn't shoot in my 700 .270.........

Every Rifle is an individual.

My 15" barreled Encore .270 wouldn't shoot anything BUT the 130.
