Natchez Shooting Supply (http://www.natchezss.com/) is kinda hard to beat for price on optics and I've always gotten good service from them.

I bought some Varmint Grenades in 36 grain and loaded them for the .22 Hornet but haven't tested them yet. Also planned to try them in the .223 and .220 Swift. Now I guess I better get some 50 grain VG too!

Let us know the results at the range. I am still anxious to shoot these 50 grainers.

I'm glad they came out with 50-grain bullets. The 36-grain sounded good, but when you crunch the numbers (thanks to Point Blank) they don't look as impressive compared to the trajectory (not counting energy figures) of 50 to 55-grain bullets in the same cartridges. I do like the idea of no ricochets though!

I'm working on the 36gr grenades in a 22-250 using Varget giving me fits. working on col and necks , gives me a chance to play with new scope, (leupold VX-L 6.5-20x56) I love it!

90 gr speer TNT HP in a 270 works great see load info

I'm still working on the 36 gr using Varget 38.5 gr. and working on COL it seems to like shorter cols. I'm having at least one flyer in each test. It is playing heck with my 1/2" groups. lol
I think I will try some Speer 50gr TNT HPs today, and hope for better groups. Will let ya'll know.

I don't think the TNTs will work in the .22-250. I believe Speer recommends not using them for that cartridge.

Here's what the Speer #13 Manual says:

"Although the 50 grain Speer TNT hollow point is not generally recommended at 22-250 velocities, we know of a number of reloaders who can get 3,600 - 3,700ft/sec from the TNT without problems. Bore smoothness varies from gun to gun & this seems to be the key factor in using the TNT in a 22-250."

May want to lap your bore before trying them in your 22-250. Just a thought.

hummmm, tks for the info, will look into it. I have loaded them down to the 36-3700fps range but due to high gusty winds I haven't shot any yet.
The Speer 90gr.TNTs in my 270 are pinpoint with real messy varmints so I had high hopes. I'll keep ya'll posted

I had a chance to try the 50gr TNT in my 22-50. 4 shots at 100yds .600 group with 35.4gr varget 1/2 gr. up or down the groups opened up. I will try to tweek the load a bit more to see if I can get it down to .250
