Yep, The 240gr MK which I saw as a prototype at the silhouette internationals back a number of years ago. The bullet itself is a monster and takes an 8 twist. Note that he was also using Hogdon powder. The guys at Sierra make a fine bullet for sure. My guess would be that right now they hold more records than just about any bullet maker.

I do not build BR guns so it is a guess. You might get started for about $7-8K doing a good bit of the work yourself and 10-12K if you hire it done. Even entry level BR shooters do not use the 700 action anymore, not even a sleeved 700 action. Now that Dakota bought Nesika, the price of poker went up on that baby. One thing though, the barrels are expensive and for a BR shooter only last about 500 shots more or less.

By the by, the top BR shooters reload a bit different than we do as well. Note the comment about the cases being reloaded, I believe it was 58 times. Every case is matched to capacity and demision. The cases are lathe cut inside and out to insure uniform deminsions (including the body). Usually a practice session is shot with just 5 cases and a reloading bench at the range.

The guys that are bug nuts are the BR remfire guys. I corrisponded with the fellow that writes the remfire section for Precision Shooting for a couple of years. Certifiable.... If they thought a blessing by the Pope would help, off the ammo would go.....

I am always envious of those types of shots. When we had first entered Afghanistan, I remember reading an article about a Canadian Sniper that broke the sniper kill distance of that held by Marine Corps Sniper Hatcock - long shooters are amazing.

Their persona is awesome as well - My Uncle had a friend who had been a sniper in Vietnam - my Uncle asked him one day if he had ever missed, the guy did not skip a beat, he said "Yeah, I hit a guy in the neck once instead of his head." I remember that day and I have remembered his words ever since.

Wow, I am happy at 100yds with that group.
