Try it, It works great. I size a 420gr pure lead to .451, give it 2 wraps of 16lb paper. After it dries I lube with Saeco Gold and run through a .549 die and load over 55gr AA2495. Its all I want in a 1895G Marlin!

I paper patched for my Sharps 1874 in 45/70, until I realized the accuracy gain was not great enough to keep up with the extra work and time consumption. Sizing the lead bullets .001" over were I had, got me the better accuracy I wanted with less dinking around.
