Looking at the load data, that is an above average velocity. Do you have a 26" barrel?

no, 24. it surprised me too. thats with 67 grains which is 2 shy of max according to sierra. 68 was just over 3100 and when i tried th max 69, the 1 i shot was around 3150, but had flattened, and cratered primer. Shocked i'll pull them. no pressure signs at 68.0. it was 90 that day too.

i believe the chrony accurate as my 22" marlin 270 with my load of 55.5 gr of imr4831 with a 130 gr rem cl, was a tad over 3000, which is right on in my books.

I just looked at the Hodgdon data and they had max IMR 4831 for a 180gr Swift bullet at 66.3C 2980fps. I realize that its a different bullet and all guns are different. My rifles don't shooting as fast as the load data.

I assume that is a 270 Win, not a WSM? I'm getting a tad over 3000 fps with my 130gr bullets, Hornady GMX and Barnes TSX, with 55.5gr and 56.0gr of IMR 4350, respecitvely (270 Win). The Hodgdon data shows 4831 and 4350 shot very close in velocity.
